Admission Schedule
For purposes of admission, the teaching departments or courses of study are grouped under the following two heads
Admission Through Competitive Tests
M.C.A., D.C.A., M.Sc. (Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Physics, Physics (Electronic Science)and Mathematics),Admission to both subsidised and supernumosary seats in these courses are made through entrance tests LL.B. (Day), LL.B. (Evening under Self-Financing Scheme), B. Ed., B.J.M.C.M.A. (Phy. Edu) Diploma inusually conducted in may every year
Admission on the Basis of Marks in Qualifying ExaminationÂ
M. A. (English, Hindi, Translation, Sanskrit, Music, Economics, Business Economics, Sociology, Geography,Admission to these courses is made on merit as worked out on the basis of marks obtained in the History, Political Science, Psychology, Public Administration, Physical Education, Painting), M. Com., M.Ed.,qualifying examination + marks obtained in the subject of studied at the Graduation level. Generally LL. M. M.Phill (including Sciences courses)and Diplomas in Foreign Languages (French, German, Russian),admission to these courses is made in the months of June-July every year.Buddhist Studies, Yoga Studies, DAT, Guidance Counselling, Tribal Studies and Population Studies.
Admission and Reservations
Admission to the various courses of study except MMBS, MD, MS, Diploma course in Medical Science, MCA and DCA shall be open to all persons irrespective of race, creed, caste or calls subject to the following conditions:
- 15% and 7.5% seats shall be reserved for S.C. and S.T. candidates respectively who have passed their qualifying examination from Himachal Pradesh University or H.P. Krishi Vishwavidyalaya or Dr. Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forstry.
- The remaining 77.5% seats shall be filled as under:
- 25% of the seats for admission shall be open for all the candidates irrespective of the institution from where they have passed their qualifying examination.
- 75% of the seats shall be filled out of the candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from Himachal Pradesh University or H.P. Krishi Vishwavidyalaya or Dr. Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry subject to the following reservations:
- 5% of the seats shall be reserved for outstanding sportsman/woman;
- 5% of all the seats shall be reserved for outstanding cultural activists;
- 3% of the seats shall be reserved for physically handicapped candidates;
- provided that the minimum eligibility for admission to a course in the case of S.C., S.T. and outstanding sportsmen will be 5% lower than the eligibility condition for other students except for LL.M. cours
Note: Roster System is followed for admissions under various categories of reservations.
