A pass course students (B.A./B.Sc.) is permitted to borrow at a time two volumes from the General Library, two volumes from the sectional library of his/her main subject, one volume from each sectional library of the subsidiary subject/subjects concerned and one from the sectional library of his second language. |

Books taken out by students shall not be retained for more than a fortnight (14 days) from the date of issue or for a shorter period fixed by the Head of the Department. If the due date falls on a holiday or a day on which the Library is closed for any reason the books must be returned on the next working day. Books taken out before the commencement of a vacation must be returned not later than the third working day after the re-opening of the College. If the books are not returned within three days after the re-opening of the College, fine will be levied from the re-opening day. |

Failure to return a book on the due date makes the students liable to fine of Re.1 per day |

All such fine should be paid to the office authorised to receive the same and a receipt therefore should be obtained and preserved. |

Failure to pay library fines due or to return the books on or before the due sates makes a student forfeit the privilege of borrowing any more book from the library till the overdue books are retuned and all fines pad. |

Appeals for reduction of fines shall be made in writing to the Principal through the Professor in-charge of the library. |

Books will not be renewed if there is no demand for a book it may be reissued after return. |

Books from the various Libraries will be issued to students on day to be decided upon by the respective Heads of Departments. |

The transfer or sub-lending of books taken out on loan from a Library is strictly prohibited. |

Books of reference, illustrated and rare books or special books and collections will not be lent out. |

Un catalogued and unnumbered books, current number of periodicals etc., will not be lent out. |

Every person taking a book out of a library and every reader within a Library shall be responsible for the safe custody and preservation in good condition of the book lent to him/her. |

Borrowers are responsible for the loss or damage to books taken out on loan or for consultation by them. The marking of books in ink or with pencil, spoiling or injury to binding, underlining of passages, writing of remarks, etc., on the leaves of the books or on illustrations, tearing off pages, pictures, etc. will be held to be serious charges. |

If any books is lost, damaged or mutilated, the borrower will be required to replace that book with fine or pay such compensation as may be fixed by the Principal. |

If a book belonging to a set or series is lost or damaged and a new volume is not separately available the borrower will be required to replace the whole set or series. The defaced or the damaged book, set or series will be given to the borrower after its replacement. |

Before leaving the counter, borrowers shall examine the books taken by them and point out any mutilation or defect on any book to the Library Assistant on duty. These defects etc., should be noted in the issue register and initialed by the students, otherwise the borrowers will be held responsible for any damage or mutilation observed at the time of return on the books. |

It shall be the duty of the Librarian and his staff to examine the books returned by the borrowers and to take immediate action in all cases of mutilation or damage. |

Smoking and noisy taking within the reading room and library hall are strictly prohibited. |

Books taken out for consultation must not be returned to the shelves by the readers, but, when finished with, shall be handed over to the Assistant in-charge |

Any book may be recalled at any time even if the period of loan has not expired. |

A separate application form which is supplied free from the library shall be filled in for each volume duly countersigned by a member of the staff of the Department to which the sectional Library belongs and deposited in the application box kept in the library before 12 noon on the date of issue. Applications deposited after 12 noon will not be accepted. |

Every student to whom a book is issued shall sign his name in acknowledgement of having received it in the appropriate column, of the issue register kept for the purpose. |

Books must be returned to the library before 2 p.m. When returning the books, every student must enter in the return register under appropriate heads details such as class and number of student, title of the book, stock number of the book etc., and hand over the books to the Library Assistant. |

The Librarian shall submit to the Principal every month a list of students who have incurred Library fines during that month together with statement of books overdue from students for necessary action. Fines collected shall be remitted to the office every day. |

Every student shall pay a Library fee during the admission. |

If student accidentally loses a boom borrowed by him from the Library he shall immediately report the matter to the Principal and pay the cost of the book together with fine up-to-date the Librarian. |

All arrears of Library and Laboratory fines due shall be paid by the students before they receive their hall tickets for the University Examination at the termination of their academic course or before they receive their Transfer Certificate, if they leave before the completion of their academic course. |

Books can be borrowed on a long-term basis under the Book Bank Scheme as per rules framed for the purpose. |

A member of teaching staff can take the text books prescribed for his subject only. |

A member of the non-teaching staff can take three books from the General Library. They are to be returned within a month. |

All books taken by the teaching and non-teaching staffs are to be returned in time for annual stock verification. All books are to be returned if a member of the staff takes leave for more than a month. |

Dog-caring the pages of books, scribbling on them and tearing page is strictly prohibited. Any one found guilty of this will be fixed. |

Students will be held responsible for the loss or damage of books sent to them. In case of loss or damage, the following procedure will the followed: |

If copies of the lost books are available in the market the missing books should be replaced with a new copy of it or its market price at the time with U.P. and postal charges if necessary should be paid. |

If the book is not available in the market, value at the following rates should be realized: |
